This study describes the status quo with regard to the demand for and availability of recyclates. To this end, a two-scenario model is used to determine the demand for and availability of post-consumer recyclates up to the year 2030. The calculation is based on future legal requirements in the form of recycled content targets and market-related demand volumes in the individual sectors. The status quo is determined in detail in Germany and in eight other European countries, on the basis of which an extrapolation is made for EU-27+3 (including Norway, Switzerland and UK) and Germany in detail. The data determined in both scenario models indicate supply gaps in the EU-27+3 and Germany.
