Against the backdrop of future circular economy targets, BKV GmbH commissioned an initial analysis of ‘real‘ waste streams related to plastics in Germany in 2019. This study did not only identify relevant waste streams, but it also gained in-depth knowledge of their composition, e.g. in terms of size and total mass with regard to areas of application. As a result, waste streams, which have not yet been utilized for material recycling, were identified. In this context, the new study provides up-to-date data relating to the year 2023.
