By 2030, CO2 emissions across the company are to be reduced by 25 percent compared to 2018. To drive the implementation of this target, BASF has now bundled its cross-company activities in a new project organization. The new unit, based in Ludwigshafen, is to start on January 1, 2022 under the name "Net Zero Accelerator" and will support the projects on low-carbon production, circular economy and renewable energies in their implementation. The unit is initially to comprise around 80 employees under the leadership of Dr. Lars Kissau. In addition to projects already underway, new projects to achieve CO2 reduction targets at corporate level are to be launched and driven forward worldwide. The aim was to take the projects into the implementation phase over the next few years.
