Following the sudden death of Chief Executive Ralf Olsen, Sven Weihe has been appointed as interim successor.

 

Pro-K Chief Executive Ralf Olsen, who led the association for more than 20 years, had died suddenly at the beginning of July 2023 at the age of 61. Now the board of the pro-K Industrieverband langlebige Kunststoffprodukte und Mehrwegsysteme e.V. appointed 49-year-old Sven Weihe as interim managing director to fill the resulting leadership vacuum quickly and competently. A graduate in German studies and history, Weihe was also recently appointed managing director of communications at the association's general meeting. He joined pro-K in January 2023. Previously, he was head of communications at plastics producers' association Plastics Europe Deutschland. Weihe, who studied at Leibniz University in Hanover and University of Bristol, has worked in the plastics industry in various capacities since 2012.
