Plastics Europe Germany: Executive Board confirmed

At its general meeting on May 13, the association confirmed its Executive Board for another three years in office.
Dr. Ralf Düssel (Evonik) will remain chairman, according to the plastics manufacturers' association Plastics Europe Germany. Dr. Guido Naberfeld (Covestro), Dr. Daniel Koch (Basell Polyolefine) and Dr. Klaus Wittstock (BASF) were elected as deputy chairmen[1]. Philip O. Krahn (Otto Krahn Group) will retain the office of treasurer. The previous board members Dr. Uwe Dietsch (Inovyn), Michael Freutsmiedl (Borealis), Dr. Andreas Holzner (Baerlocher), Dr. Oliver Mieden (Westlake Vinnolit), Dr. Peter Prinz (Vynova), Wolf Sanner (Syensqo), Ute Spring (Dow) and Dr. Jürgen Stebani (Polymaterials) were also confirmed in their positions.
Dr. Ralf Düssel believes that the newly elected Executive Board is well positioned for the tasks ahead: “Competitiveness and the circular economy remain the focus of our work. It is a great privilege for me to be able to actively shape this transformation together with Dr. Christine Bunte, the Executive Board team and the members of Plastics Europe Germany.” Dr. Christine Bunte, main operating officer of Plastics Europe Germany, thanked the member companies for their commitment and sees a clear mandate for the next three years: “We must secure the competitiveness of the plastics industry in Germany as the basis for the transformation.” This requires close cooperation along the entire value chain and clear communication of the goals anchored in the Plastics Transition Roadmap. Against this backdrop, a constructive dialogue with the new federal government is expected.
By 2050, plastics production in Europe should be climate-neutral and competitive. The member companies of Plastics Europe intend to show how this can be achieved at the K 2025 trade fair in Düsseldorf from October 8 to 15 with a special exhibition entitled “Plastics Shape the Future".
