With the development center, the two companies, plastics producer Sabic and injection molding machine manufacturer KraussMaffei, want to support their customers in the development of new thin-wall packaging. In addition to requirements such as reduced cycle times and lower energy consumption, the main focus is to be on better loop steering. A holistic approach is to encompass both the selection of the material and the manufacturing process. The range of services is said to  include advice on process optimization, machine and application development, material development and design. In this context, design for better cycle management was a key point.
