With the founding of MKV Polymers Inc., the recycling specialist for engineering plastics is starting a new chapter.

On 1 January 2026, MKV GmbH Kunststoffgranulate, based in Beselich-Obertiefenbach, will establish the subsidiary MKV Polymers Inc. in the city of Akron, Ohio. According to a statement from MKV, the US subsidiary will initially be represented by a sales office and will serve the entire North American market. In the medium to long term, there are also plans to build a production facility on site. According to the information provided, the US market will be supplied from the outset with products from MKV's ‘ZIA’ brand manufactured locally by partner companies, meaning that customs issues will not be relevant. The Canadian market is also to be supplied via the subsidiary in the US. Due to the prevailing CETA free trade agreement between Europe and Canada, this is said to be possible from Germany with a local warehouse.
