IK and ELIPSO call on their members to participate in the 5th competition for sustainable plastic packaging innovations.

 

The PackTheFuture Award of IK-Industrievereinigung Kunststoffverpackungen and its French partner ELIPSO honors innovative and sustainable packaging solutions made of plastic. The award aims to promote and raise awareness of the contribution of plastic packaging to climate protection, the circular economy and responsible consumption. "Plastic packaging is a high-tech product and deserves appreciation for its multifaceted contribution to product and climate protection," says IK Managing Director Mara Hancker, explaining the aims of the award. "With the PackTheFuture Award, we are shining a spotlight on packaging innovations that are outstanding ambassadors for our industry: Plastic packaging protects sustainably." Gael Bouquet, secretary general of ELIPSO, adds, "With the PackTheFuture Award, we create awareness in Europe among the industry but also the general public for innovative and sustainable plastic packaging solutions." Until February 28, members of the two associations can submit their innovations, also online via packthefuture.com. There are six categories to choose from for this purpose: "Design for Reuse," "Design for Sustainable Material Sourcing and Recycled Content," "Design for Recycling," "Design for Environmentally Sound Use and Disposal," "Design for Product Protection" and "Design for Consumer Benefit/Convenience." The award ceremony for the PackTheFuture Award 2023 is to take place on May 9 at the Interpack trade fair in Düsseldorf.
