For the study, Conversio Market & Strategy GmbH again surveys over 2000 companies along the entire value chain.

 

The BKV, as the client of the study "Material Flow Picture Plastics in Germany 2023", met with the 15 project partners and Conversio Market & Strategy GmbH on 11.10.2023 in Frankfurt for the kick-off event. The detailed study, which is published every two years, provides a comprehensive picture of the production, processing, consumption, waste generation and recycling of plastics and shows that circular economy has long been a central topic for the German plastics industry. For some years now, the material flow analysis has also provided information on how many recycled plastics are returned to the cycle as recyclates at which point in the value chain. Since 1994, the plastics industry has had relevant data and facts compiled for Germany for the study and thus has a continuous material flow picture for its material and its development. With the comprehensive life cycle analysis of plastics in Germany, the study provides important information for an objective discussion on plastics in administration, science and industry. The material flow analysis for plastics in Germany 2023 is expected to be published in September 2024. For the study, various statistics will be evaluated in the coming months and more than 2,000 companies in plastics production, processing and recycling will be surveyed as a core element.
