K 2025: Startup Pitch “Towards Zero”

PlasticsEurope, the association of plastics manufacturers, is organizing the event in cooperation with the VDMA and Messe Düsseldorf on October 13, 2025.

Startups that contribute to a circular economy with plastics, to the defossilization of the plastics industry or to the reduction of emissions with innovations and technologies, solutions or new business models can apply until March 1, 2025. As part of the special Plastics Europe “Plastics Shape the Future” show, the “Towards Zero” pitch will take place during the world's leading trade fair for the plastics and rubber industry, K 2025, in Hall 6 of the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre, the organizers report. “The trade fair offers start-ups a unique platform to present their ideas for reducing emissions and closing plastic loops to an international audience of industry professionals, potential customers and investors,” explains Dr. Christine Bunte, Managing Director of Plastics Europe Germany. Thorsten Kühmann, Managing Director of the Association of Plastics and Rubber Machinery in the VDMA, adds: “Innovative technologies are essential to achieving climate targets and to advancing the transformation of the plastics industry to achieve them.” Thomas Franken, Director of K Trade Fair, says: “The motto of K 2025 is ‘The Power of Plastics – Green, Smart, Responsible’. This year, the focus is squarely on new circular technologies and circular product innovations. However, for the European plastics industry to remain internationally competitive in the long term, the use of fossil raw materials in plastics production must be significantly reduced. That is why the topic of the circular economy is being given such a high profile at the trade fair.”
