We spoke with the outgoing senior consultant for the bvse Sector Association for Plastics Recycling and his successor about the association's work and current challenges facing the industry.

Dr Thomas Probst, who has been working for more than 20 years as a senior consultant at the bvse Bundesverband Sekundärrohstoffe und Entsorgung (Federal Association for Secondary Raw Materials and Waste Disposal) in the areas of plastics recycling, tyres and rubber, and hazardous waste, is retiring at the end of the year. He will be succeeded by Anna Roeb, who joined the bvse as a new senior consultant on 1 July 2025. We spoke to both of them about opportunities for shaping the association's work, current challenges in plastics recycling and the importance of cooperation across the entire plastics value chain.
