The bvse has provided extensive material on its website about the event in Dresden.

In addition to charts from the speakers and a picture gallery, the bvse Federal Association for Secondary Raw Materials and Waste Disposal has also made the documents from the press conference on 24 June 2025 available on its website altkunststofftag.bvse.de also offers documents from the press conference on 24 June 2025 with statements from the chairman of the bvse's plastics recycling association, Dr Dirk Textor, and the two bvse experts Dr Herbert Snell and Dr Thomas Probst. According to the bvse, around 300 industry participants registered for the conference again this year. The theme of the International Conference on Recycling of Plastics was: ‘Plastics recycling: Out of the crisis, into the future!’.

According to the association, the economic situation for plastics recyclers is difficult. Politicians are called upon to create framework conditions that give plastics recycling and recycled materials a fair chance on the market. The market was currently being massively destabilised by imports of cheap new plastics that are sold as recycled materials. Added to this were high energy prices, which are significantly impairing the competitiveness of recyclers, and an economic downturn that is further exacerbating the situation. These factors were the key drivers behind the problem. Without a genuine level playing field, the circular economy would remain an unattainable goal and climate targets will not be achieved. The bvse is calling on politicians to immediately create fair framework conditions if they want to promote plastic recycling.
