Herwart Wilms is the new vice president of FEAD
Remondis managing director Herwart Wilms is the new vice president of the European recycling association FEAD.
Wilms took office at FEAD, the umbrella organization for associations and companies in the recycling industry in Europe, on January 1, 2023. In his new role, Wilms intends to actively shape developments in Europe and represent the interests of the German circular economy at the European level. "All major decisions on what is implemented in national legislation are made at the European level. Unfortunately, far too little attention is paid to this at national level, and then there is a lot of complaining about the bureaucrats in Brussels," says Wilms. It is better to deal with the projects beforehand, he says. "That's what we do in FEAD, the Federation of Associations and Companies in the Circular Economy of Europe. I'm looking forward to being its vice president from Jan. 1, 2023." Wilms is also chairman of the Raw Materials Policy Committee of the Federation of German Industries (BDI) and vice president of the Federation of German Waste Management Associations (BDE).
