The GKV Gesamtverband Kunststoffverarbeitende Industrie (General Association of the Plastics Processing Industry) has unanimously elected Florian Loch as its new president.

Florian Loch is the managing director of Teku GmbH Fluorkunststoffe in Velbert and assumed the office of GKV president on September 20, 2026, according to a statement from the GKV. He was elected for a standard two-year term and succeeds Dr. Helen Fürst, who did not seek reelection after four years at the helm of the association. At the same time, the GKV’s former chief executive, Dr. Oliver Möllenstädt, has left the association; a successor for this position has not yet been officially named.

Prior to his election as president, Florian Loch had already been actively involved in the political and strategic direction of the federation for many years through various committees and roles, the GKV reports. His career within the association has been strongly shaped by his work at the pro-K Industrieverband langlebige Kunststoffprodukte und Mehrwegsysteme (Industry Association for Durable Plastic Products and Reusable Systems), one of the GKV’s four supporting associations. There, he primarily represents the perspective of small and medium-sized plastic-processing companies and, according to the GKV, was already significantly involved in the establishment of the Fluoropolymer Group within pro-K in the early 2000s. With his election, he is expected to place greater emphasis on the issue of chemical regulation on the association’s agenda. According to the information provided, Florian Loch has been with Teku GmbH Fluorkunststoffe since 1991, a family-owned company specializing in these plastics, which he has led since 2012. Teku was founded in 1976 and, according to the information provided, currently employs around 15 people.
