The VDI Centre for Resource Efficiency has developed the database on by-products and secondary raw materials.

The material database on by-products and secondary raw materials is primarily intended to support companies without experience in the recycling or disposal of valuable materials that arise in production. By using or selling recyclable materials that are no longer needed, they can save costs or generate income. The database contains several categories in which the materials are listed. In addition to the description of the materials, links to suitable traders are also provided. "Practical examples" show how other companies are already successfully using their unneeded recyclables and thus exploiting potential savings.
