First Circular Plastics Experience Summit in Klagenfurt

The new trade fair and conference format for circular plastic solutions in the Alps-Adriatic region will take place from 13 to 15 May 2025.

The Circular Plastics Experience Summit (CIRPLEX), which will begin on the evening of 13 May in Klagenfurt, Austria, with a pre-event featuring international keynote speakers, will focus on the transformation from a linear to a circular plastics economy and on innovative solutions being developed and implemented in the Alps-Adriatic region and in Central and South-Eastern Europe. According to the organiser, Kärtner Messen in Klagenfurt, around 79 companies from nine countries will be exhibiting on 3,200 square metres of exhibition space. The exhibition covers the entire value chain of the plastics recycling industry, ranging from the plastics industry, packaging industry, chemical industry, recycling and mechanical engineering to waste management. The hybrid trade fair format, combining product presentations, expert lectures, panel discussions, networking events and company tours, is aimed at a specialist audience, in particular decision-makers. Under the motto ‘From waste to value’, the organisers will present innovative approaches from recycling technology, alternative materials and cycle-oriented business models. The trade exhibition also includes a congress programme with more than 30 specialist speakers from Austria and Europe. On the first day of the fair, 14 May, Virginia Janssens, Managing Director of the European manufacturers' association Plastics Europe, will take part in a panel discussion on the topic ’How can Europe regain its leading role in the plastics industry – both within Europe and in global competition?’ On the morning of the second day of the event, the trade fair agenda includes a presentation by BKV Managing Director Dr. Ingo Sartorius on ‘The contribution of plastics to the carbon cycle economy’. Andreas Witschnigg from PreZero Polymers Austria will then talk about the economic, technical and regulatory challenges of mechanical recycling of packaging waste from household collections. The entire CIRPLEX programme can be downloaded here.
