Fakuma 2023: full house, satisfied exhibitors

1,636 exhibitors and more than 39,000 visitors were counted by P.E. Schall, the promoter of the trade fair from 17 through 21 October 2023.

This year's trade fair for plastics processing, with its focal themes of circular economy, recycling and sustainability, was intended to be a celebration of plastics, and according to the promoter, it succeeded in doing just that during Fakuma 2023. A great many innovations were on display on 85,000 square metres of floor space. Above all, visitors were able to gain an insight into many innovations that deal with degradation possibilities and the recyclability of plastics. For example, the establishment of closed material cycles, product optimisation for recycling and the processing of recyclates for high-quality applications were often the focus of the presentations. According to the organiser, the new technologies are developing in line with the current challenges of resource conservation and net-zero emissions. There was also no lack of internationality: 44 percent of the exhibitors came to Friedrichshafen from abroad, 134 companies from Italy, 120 from China, 79 from Switzerland, 70 from Austria, 58 from Turkey and 55 from France. The 29th Fakuma is scheduled to take place from 15 to 19 October 2024.
