Dein-Kunststoff.de platform launches new information service for young professionals

The ‘Wir sind Kunststoff’ (We are Plastics) initiative is expanding its website dein-kunststoff.de with a special section for trainees.

The new offering aims to inspire young professionals to pursue a career in plastics and show them concrete paths into the world of the plastics industry. According to the information provided, the new page for young talent offers easy-to-understand information about careers and training opportunities in plastics processing, mechanical engineering, research and sustainability. In addition, innovative projects and practical examples from companies are presented to illustrate that plastics technology is high-tech and of crucial importance for the circular economy, climate protection and modern living environments. ‘We want to show young people that plastics are innovative, sustainable and indispensable for numerous applications in everyday life, technology and environmental protection,’ explains Dr Oliver Möllenstädt, Managing Director of the GKV Gesamtverband Kunststoffverarbeitende Industrie (German Association of Plastics Converters). Dr Christine Bunte, Chief Executive of Plastics Europe Germany, adds: ‘With the new area for young people, we are offering guidance and inspiration (...) in areas such as medical technology, the energy transition and sustainable mobility.’ Thorsten Kühmann, Managing Director of the VDMA Plastics and Rubber Machinery Association, emphasises: ‘Our new information service shows how diverse and meaningful a career in the plastics industry can be – whether as an engineer, process technician or developer of sustainable solutions.’
