Borealis appoints Craig Arnold to the Management Board
Effective February 1, 2024, Craig Arnold will be responsible for Polyolefins, Circular Economy Solutions and Innovation & Technology on the Borealis Management Board.
Thomas Gangl, CEO of Borealis, will assume interim responsibility for these areas from January 1, 2024 until Craig Arnold (photo) assumes his role on the Borealis Management Board, according to the company's announcement. Arnold is currently Chief Commercial Officer at Ferroglobe PLC in Madrid, Spain, according to the statement. Previously, he spent many years with the international chemical company Dow in various management positions, including as Executive Secondment of Dow and Advisor to the CEO at the Alliance to End Plastics Waste (AEPW) in Singapore, as President Dow Sub-Sahara Africa in Johannesburg, South Africa, as Global Commercial Vice President Dow Industrial Solutions for EMEAI in Zurich, Switzerland, and as President Dow Australia & New Zealand in Melbourne, Australia, as well as in other management positions in Houston and Michigan, USA. Arnold studied Chemical Engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. He holds dual Swiss-South African citizenship.
