Eighth Packaging Recycling Conference
The conference, under the patronage of the BMUKN, will take place on 9 December 2025 at the Hesse State Representation in Berlin.
The 8th Packaging Recycling Conference is aimed at the entire packaging and recycling value chain and this year will focus on the opportunities and challenges facing the industry. The programme will begin with a welcome address by Carsten Träger (SPD), Member of the German Parliament and Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Protection, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUKN).
The conference is organised by the BDE Federal Association of the German Waste Management, Water and Recycling Industry, Allianz Verpackung und Umwelt (AVU) and bvse Federal Association for Secondary Raw Materials and Waste Management. According to the information provided, the focus will be on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and the transformation of the economy and society, as well as the role of AI in the circular economy. Experts from politics, business and science will also discuss models of product responsibility in Europe, packaging innovations and the topic of fire protection in the recycling industry. The day will be led by representatives of the organisers and host associations: the Deputy Chief Managing Director of the BDE, Dr Andreas Bruckschen, the Executive Chairman of the AVU, Dr Carl Dominik Klepper, and the Chief Managing Director of the bvse, Eric Rehbock.
